Success Comes From Critical Hard Works

“Critical Thinking for Critical Success.” That’s all I can say during the end of this semester about CL subject. This quote means that with learning Critical Thinking, we can master in understanding what we are reading about. For my opinion, I have understand more in Critical Literacy now. I have known about the reason why this subject is included in English’s courses, to gain critical investigation about everything we found and read. To be compared, before learning this subject, I just have slight understanding about every articles I’ve read. And I just read the article to get its main idea only without knowing the real purpose of the article written by its writer. But, that components exist in CL subject and help me a lot.

                For the comments and suggestions, I think I’m not credible enough to talk about this as I’m just newbie here. But, for the sake of marks and task’s request, I will voice out my suggestions. My first suggestion is single lecture learning where a lecturer can focus more with the small number of students during every leaning session. Secondly, for my opinion, this subject will be more interesting if there are lots of role plays among the students and lecturer. This method is just a way to make the students understand the subject easily with fun learning. In the role plays, the lecturer can include and apply the elements needed in Critical Literacy subject.

                Finally, I think that’s all my suggestions for this subject. I would like to give special thanks to my lecturer for teaching me a new knowledge of this subject which will help me in future.

CRITICAL LITERACY - PROPOSITION

Hollywood, a place which contains lot of victory in filming. There are lots of gorgeous actors and great movies there. In the big number of movies produced, there originality of the ‘True Stories’ was always missing.

                There are some reasons why this situation happened. First of all, it is to make the story line become more interesting. If the story line of the story is already known by the watcher, what is the reason for them to watch the movies? The production will not get their audience if this situation happened. So, in order to gain the audience interest, the production will change the story line and in other to make it more dramatically where the audience could not guess what the ending of the story.

                For the next reason of why the originality of the true story was not exposed in the great movies are the unsuitable scenes. If the true story tell about the sex scene, this is really unsuitable for the production to proceed because although the Hollywood are not really prohibits the sex scene in their country, the story will also being promote to other country. Then if the country that being promoted have the rules for no sex in the movie, they will have to edit or delete the scene. It is a waste for me as why we have to record the scene that will delete? So this is one of the reasons of why some great movies are not based on the true story.

                As a conclusion, whether the story shows the true story or not, the qualities of the story in the most important thing to be think about.

STATEMENTS' VIEW

Based on NST's news about the black market businesses of selling child or newborn baby, from my point of view it is not wrong.

Child is a gift from God. And after the gift received by the human, we should take care it carefully. Same with children, we should take care and give a full attention toward them. As the issue here is should the baby being sold to gain happiness, then it is really good for the baby itself. Although the ‘baby selling businesses’ is illegal and immoral, for my own opinion it is better as it can bright the baby future. As we all know, in black market, the price for a baby is really high. So from this point, it shows that the buyers or the pairs who really wanted the children in their family, willing to pay to get the baby. And even the price reaching millions, the will pay. This definitely show that the adopt family do not care about spending much for their adopt children and they would treat them like their own blood. The family also could come from the rich people. So it will not be a problem for the parents to give the child all their needs such as education, clothes, foods, and so on.

                For the baby, they will have a better life in future if they are adopted. This is because most of the baby who being sold to a adopt parents come from a poor family. Their own parents might not afford their child financial especially when the child has grown up. In conclusion, the baby will get a better life if they are given to better parents who will take care them with love.

STEREOTYPING


First Immpression

Stereotyping is a term that being use with categorizing system in order to judge. Judging other people becomes one of the most popular habits of people around the world. We tend to assume on others. For example we divide people into different group like tidy, lazy, nerd, bad people and many more. This example usually comes from people who judge based on their own assumption. During the first time we met the people, we will judge them with our intuition and experiences before such as if we met a person who wears spectacles, and we will probably think that the person is nerd.

                The main problem now is what are the claimer references to prove his claims? Because as we can see, these claimers point out their opinion without referring or providing any evidence and supporting details. Actually these people have that perception because of their culture from generation to generation where they have been set up to think and judge in their culture way of thinking. In order to claim a premise, one should have the valid basis. His premise must come from the facts, not from their unproven opinions.

                However, this kind of thinking seem to be something that very difficult to be avoid from doing by most people. This is because these people have practicing this way of thinking since they were young. So in order to avoid this perception, the person has to start practicing the right way on claiming the premises. Lastly, this is the purpose of the Critical Literacy subject.

Rumors of Critical Literacy

                During my early weeks of this semester, one senior has asked me a question which is “How the feels of learning CL (Critical Literacy)?” My answer towards her is “It’s quite interesting. Why?” Then she said, “Haha, you don’t get the real feels yet about learning CL. Don’t worry, you will get the feels later when the time comes. Just wait and see. Hahahaha!” After she finished her sentence, I started to wonder about the hardness this subject. Why this subject is very popular among the seniors? Is this subject really hard? And, what makes this subject really hard?

                My last question appears in my mind because during my early classes, I do know why but I’m really desire to know more about this subject because of the introduction’s teaching has attract my interest. I will have to analyst articles or stories and get to know and understand the story so much. And the stories appeared in my mind that I have to investigate are fairy tales, horror story, and stories about the cases I have to solve such as missing cases or murder cases. But after I learn more about CL subject in the coming classes, I start to realize that my imagination’s story I have to investigate is not true and the actual story that I have to analyst are academical articles. From that situation, I have known that the real meaning of the seniors rumors about CL which I have to focus and pay attention to every tutors’ session to get the well understanding about this subject.

                Finally, my hope for CL subject is I will get my desire and interest back as same as my feeling during my first classes of this subject.
